The trigeminal nerve - the primary nerve involved in migraine pain - is located under the skin of your forehead. The Cefaly device stimulates the endings of this nerve via an electrode positioned on the forehead between the eyebrows. The Prevent treatment program is meant for daily preventative treatment and is activated by pressing your device button twice, with a pause in between. You’ll press the button once and see aqua — then press it again and see purple. If you have the CEFALY Connected, you can select and start treatment in the app. When using the Prevent migraine treatment program, you will observe the following:
  • You will hear two beeps to indicate your Prevent program selection.

Yes. To effectively reduce migraine frequency, the 20-minute Prevent treatment should be used every day. Occasional use of the Prevent mode may not be effective.

Allow at least two to three months to see results. Cefaly works by gradually desensitizing the trigeminal nerve, so consistent daily use is key. If you notice even a small change in your migraine frequency, that means you're responding to treatment. Keep going, and use the Cefaly app to track your progress.

Acute is a 60-minute program designed to treat migraine attacks when they begin, to stop or relieve your migraine pain. Begin an Acute treatment by pressing your device button once. You’ll see an aqua indicator light. If you have the CEFALY Connected, you can select and start treatment in the app. When using the Acute migraine treatment program, you will observe the following:
  • You will hear a single beep to indicate your Acute program selection.

Cefaly treatment may feel like a gentle tingling, prickling, or vibrating. Using your Cefaly should never feel uncomfortable or painful.

You’re always in control of your treatment intensity. You do not have to use Cefaly at maximum intensity to see treatment benefits.

During treatment, the stimulation will get stronger for the first 14 minutes of the session, until it reaches the maximum level. When you definitely notice the feeling, but it still feels comfortable, press the Cefaly device button or press STABILIZE in the Cefaly app. The stimulation will not get any stronger.

If treatment feels too weak, press + in the app to increase the intensity by about 1%.

When you're using the 60-minute Acute treatment, you should feel pain relief after 1-2 sessions. For the best results, start the Acute program at the very earliest sign of a migraine attack.

When using the 20-minute Prevent treatment, allow at least two to three months to see results. Cefaly works by gradually stimulating and desensitizing the trigeminal nerve, so consistent daily use is key.

If you experience even a modest improvement in your symptoms in the first weeks, this means your migraine is responding to the Cefaly treatment. Keep using your Cefaly consistently, and you should experience less frequent migraine attacks.

Once the session ends, the electrode should be placed back onto its transparent plastic backing sheet and stored inside the resealable electrode storage bag.

There is no contraindication for using Cefaly with Botox injections. If you are interested in Cefaly treatments and Botox injections, we recommend that you discuss both therapies with your healthcare provider.

If you already receive Botox injections for chronic migraine, we recommend waiting 48-72 hours after an injection before placing a Cefaly electrode and starting Cefaly treatments.

If you are new to both Cefaly and Botox treatments, we recommend starting one therapy at a time and waiting at least three months before beginning the other treatment.

First, create and sign into your account.

This indicates that the battery needs to be charged. Please charge your device for at least 4
hours for a full charge.

electrode are properly aligned.

  • Adjust the treatment intensity so it feels good to you. You should feel a strong
    vibration or stimulation sensation that is comfortable, never painful. Use Cefaly at
    an intensity level that allows you to complete the entire Acute or Prevent treatment.
  • During the first 14 minutes of a session, use the Cefaly app (with CEFALY
    Connected) or press the device button once to stabilize the intensity at your
    preferred level. Press + in the app or press the device button again to increase the
    intensity by about 1%. If the stimulation is too strong, twist the device and pull it
    away from the electrode, then restart your session.

  • Often, the skin on your forehead may become reddened where the electrode was
    applied, because of increased blood flow in the area during treatment.
  • Persistent redness may indicate an allergy to the acrylate in the electrode adhesive.

Soluciones:

  • Some redness is common and usually harmless. Wait a few minutes to see if it goes
    away.
  • In rare cases, you may experience blistering, burning, itching, or swelling because
    of an acrylate allergy. If this happens. stop using Cefaly and gently wash the area
    with soap and water. The rash should fade within a few days and may improve with
    an anti-inflammatory cream. If the condition persists, consult your healthcare
    provider and contact CEFALY Technology about hypoallergenic electrodes.

  • These symptoms may indicate an uncommon side effect of using Cefaly.

  • If you experience any of these symptoms persistently during or after sessions for
    more than a few weeks, stop using the device and consult your healthcare provider.

If you experience blurry vision in one or both eyes during treatment, stop the session

resume treatment until you have consulted a professional. Additionally, contact our
medical department at NAmedical@cefaly.us if you’re in North America, or
GLmedical@cefaly.com if you’re outside North America.

Cefaly clinical trials have shown that side effects are generally minor and fully reversible. Si

If you use Cefaly regularly, you may eventually perceive the stimulation as less intense.

while for others the intensity remains unchanged. If your device has been properly
maintained, rest assured it is working as intended.

Clean all sides of your device, power adapter, charging dock, and cable with a soft cloth

If the answer is yes, then ask what documents you’ll need to submit a claim, such as a Letter of Medical Necessity from your doctor and the original receipt for your Cefaly purchase.

It's important to know that filing an insurance claim for Cefaly may not result in reimbursement. Insurance coverage and reimbursement depend on your individual insurance provider and plan. Este es el proceso para presentar un reclamo:
